Curriculum just got updated for multiple sciences after a year of testing a trial version for the class I teach. I joined midst pandemic, and while on the "local" level (teachers and staff who actively work with each other, all the up to superintendent for my state) they did a fine job rolling with the punches of a constant stream of new students, things on a larger Pearson wide scale are not great. Also understanding on working with things like my ADHD as a teacher, which I found I had during the job from struggling to complete certain tasks I wouldn't normally have to deal with in a brick and mortar setting. Things like not scheduling tests on religious holidays is often talked about, across multiple religions. I feel very supported, and the school is very accepting on those matters, as well as religions too. Whats even more wonderful is I came out to my staff and genderfluid and I've no issues from staff. I was also given quite a good pay bump after my first year. I feel my professional time is considered and respected. I feel genuinely valued and listened too, and even though I'm newer to full time teaching my experience is not constantly called into question. I've learned a lot and really developed as an educator, and there is lots of support for me continuing that education sponsored by administration. We do lots of trainings for diversity, equity, and inclusion focused on people too, not just the students. Great flexible hours, love the staff and how they really focus on the students as individuals.
